Martin Luther King, Jr. was an African American minister who worked so that all people would be treated fairly. He led peaceful marches (a gathering of people who walk together to bring attention to something important) and gave speeches. Martin Luther King Jr.’s most famous speech was called “I Have a Dream” and was given on August 28, 1963 in Washington, D.C.
