Thank you Bailey's families, for being our Partners in Print!
Last night, Bailey’s invited families into classrooms to make stories come alive with Elephant and Piggie! Teachers volunteered their time to lead sessions and read stories. Families made paper bag puppets and talked like the characters. Several arts integration strategies were modeled for families and students last night. Families participated in a concentration circle and created a tableau (frozen picture created with your body) about the story they read.
As a CETA school, Bailey's partners with the Kennedy Center. Our community is excited to celebrate Mo Willems, The Kennedy Center's first artist in residence!
Bailey's extends an elephant-size thank you to all who volunteered for this event and to our fabulous literacy team for organizing this amazing opportunity!
